Spiritual Guidance and Pastoral Counseling
Spiritual Guidance provides uncluttered, reflective space to explore where your life, vocation or daily work, values, and relationships intersect with the Divine Spirit, as you know, name, experience, or think of Spirit.
Guidance creates an opportunity to access the empty space within so that you may begin to tap into the spiritual energy that affirms the goodness of your soul and your life. It is in filling that empty space with the energy of joy, peace, grace, and wholeness that you're in touch with your most authentic and creative Self in a moment that you experience as as cending to union with God.
Time spent in Spiritual Guidance examines empty spaces filled with self-judgment, the quest for your unique and true identity, release of guilt and shame, movement beyond personal and interpersonal conflicts or an end to the forces separate you from yourSelf, God, or others. Guidance fosters curiosity, deep interest, attending to the calm center of your being, seeking clarity and connectedness, building a courageous and confident, grateful and contented Self, a Self that is blessed with self compassion -- these are the qualities that God most wants you to experience and enjoy in your life.
In the course of Guidance you will experience the nearness of God whom you may have thought was distant or absent. You will experience the mingling of your inner being and the sacred. As the sages teach, in order to sing to God and embrace life you much search within: though the circumstances burdening your true Self and search through struggles so that your joy, all that is good and holy, beautiful and meaningful in you is set free.
Spiritual Guidance is usually 60 minutes, monthly and in some instances weekly. Each session moves from the • kindling of a candle symbolizing the light of God, • quiet meditation, • shared reflections that arise from your heart/mind/soul, • engaging the question of where you experience God, the sacred, and • closes with a meditation or guided imagery.
